Friends & Foes: Introduction to Integrated Pest Management – Wednesday, June 10th, 6-7:30pm

$25.00

Location: Teaching Garden and Helmerich Classroom

The heat is here and the garden pests have officially arrived. Protect your harvest and skip the harsh chemicals with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques for edible gardens. You'll learn sustainable strategies for identifying and managing pests with minimal ecological impact. Bring questions about your own “garden villains” as we learn to:

  • Identify common pests and their signature damage

  • Decide when to act and when to wait

  • Utilize natural predators to do some of the work for you

  • Implement strategies that minimize or eliminate the need for pesticides

  • Work through common pest management problems and options together through hands-on activities

Students will take home a laminated pocket guide with common pests and solutions they can use in the garden and a companion plant.

Space is limited and preregistration is required. This workshop is $20 for Tulsa Garden Center members. Non-members $25.
