A message from the Tulsa Garden Center

The Tulsa Garden Center at Woodward Park stands with our community in the fight against systemic racism.

As one of Tulsa’s most historic locations, we understand the dark and racist history surrounding our city and are committed to using our position to push for change and learn what we can do better as a organization.

Operating on Muscogee (Creek) Nation land in a building constructed by Jewish immigrants in the same year as the Tulsa Race Massacre, our history provides us with a perspective of how change happens: from the inside out.

As part of our ongoing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) development, we remain committed to promoting diversity in all areas of our organization. From our work in marginalized communities with Outdoor Classroom, to board and staff positions and instructors to students of horticulture, we strive to create an all-inclusive, welcoming environment for anyone visiting our 45-acre campus.

All lives cannot matter until Black Lives Matter.
